A humanoid figure is barely visible in the rush of digital numbers and text. Then, the humanoid starts to move and dance on the pole, trying out different positions in the electric haze.
The performance “I Strip Myself of Binary” combines pole dance and video art. It is about trying out ways in which the human form and the digital haze of video projections can be melted together. The body of the dancer becomes and universal mark for human beings, it ceases to be strictly a picture of a woman. This being tries out different positions and different movements in the digital flow of zeros and ones, leaving no trace of its existence. Only the pure movement and this exact moment are important, as the being becomes one with the electric rain of the video. What is left is the constant possibility to make another decision.
